Whatever It Takes Program

Each quarter, our employees and management nominate the coworkers or employees that impressed them the most and exhibited our “whatever it takes” company motto. An employee from each of our three divisions will win the Whatever It Takes Employee of the Quarter award. One employee from the entire year of nominations will be selected for the prestigious Whatever It Takes Employee of the Year award.

Milestone Awards

Two of the Core Values we feel our employees exhibit the most often are Hard Work and Loyalty, and they are some of the driving forces behind our company's success. This is evident in the Milestones reached each month. The Milestones Award recognizes employees who have dedicated five or more years of service to the company.

Success Stories

When a manager, frontline employee or entire team has done an incredible job or has really blown away our customers, we want to shout it from the rooftops! This is where the idea for the Success Stories came about. Success Stories are sent in by your Division Managers and Division Vice Presidents, when they want to recognize a person or team for their outstanding work.

Employee Appreciation Week

This is one of our favorite weeks of the year! Our Employee Appreciation Week occurs the same week as International Housekeeping Week and Environmental Services Week. We love hosting our Employee Appreciation Week (EAW) in celebration of all our employees’ hard work throughout the year. Lunch for each shift is catered on a day during the week that works best for each location. Everyone gets in the spirit with heartfelt messages of gratitude, fun games, and more. This is always a time of celebration, joy and fun.

The Horizons Award

The Horizons Award is our most prestigious award, given to Service Management Systems/SMS Healthcare leads and directors for achieving quality, safety, and productivity goals. Winners are honored at our annual leadership meeting and receive an etched crystal trophy and a $1,000 prize.

SMS Cares Program

When an unexpected tragedy affects one of our employees, SMS Cares is here to help. The SMS Cares fund was originally created by SMS Holdings, our Parent Company, in immediate response to Hurricane Katrina in 2005 because so many of our employees wanted to donate and help their fellow coworkers across the nation. Through the compassion and generosity of our employees, SMS Cares continues to assist families throughout the nation, who have been affected by personal tragedy or natural disaster. As a 501(c) (3) organization, 100% of all funds contributed go to supporting fellow employees in times of need.
